Global standardization bodies like ITU and 3GPP have initiated work on 5G technology standardization. You can find here some crisp updates on the standards development.

3GPP, a global partnership project which includes the TSDSI from India, is working on Release 14, considered the pre-5G release! A detailed work plan for Release-15, the first release of 5G specifications, has been prepared and is available in 3GPP web site.

TSDSI, the Indian Telecom Standards Development Organization is also focusing on 5G technologies aligned with global standardization activities apart from the work on Internet of Things, Transport technologies and other topics of interest to Indian organizations like Indian Languages, Security, and Energy Efficiency.
